Coming up With IDEAS for your First Product

If you're reading this, you're probably thinking about creating your own product for the first time...  The first step is to DO IT!...  Don't worry about making it perfect.  Hey, they've done studies on this.  They gave one pottery class 4 weeks to come up with one perfect pot, and another class (of the same size) was told they had 4 weeks to make 50 pots, and at the end of 4 weeks, the first class was still trying to perfect their one pot, and the other class had produced a number of beautiful pots.

So just go for it!...  Make your first one and base it on whatever area you are familiar with or enjoy.  Maybe it's blogging, making videos, SEO, closing leads, social media and collecting fans, or hosting home seminars.  Whatever you're actively involved in.  So to begin...

1.  List 3 things you're actively involved in.  If you're not involved in 3 things, go ahead and list 3 things you're at least familiar with and can run with, and after working up your product, you will be an expert at it.  Pick something you'd like to learn better, and study it enough to produce a product on it, and you'll get clients and learn you can do it!

2.  Now, of the 3 things you listed, which 1 area are you most successful with.  It could even be approaching friends and family - some people really want to know that, and have a great product they'd like to share with people they know.  Don't worry if you haven't closed a sale yet in the area, simply pick an area you've had more success in...maybe you have a lot of Twitter followers...whatever it is, pick one area to focus on for your product.

3.  If someone were able to achieve the exact same results you have in your most glorious moment, describe what those top 3 results would be.  Scan over all your great results, and describe 3 of them.  For example, if you got 7 leads in one day on Facebook, and 1 of them called you with all kinds of questions about your business.  Or, if your blog ranked #3 organically on Google for one day with (fill in the blank here)______ keyword and it brought in 20 leads and 1 of them joined your business and created residual income for you.

Whatever success happened, describe it and describe all the results that came from that too.   For example, if you use a very effective Facebook method that you are trying to promote, and using that method brought you 6 leads a day, and out of that came someone who joined your business as a distributor...don't stop there.  Go on to share what happened from there - "that one distributor stayed with the company for 6 months, and I received $250 at his sign-up, and $40 a month passively from him!  That's $490 of cash-flow that I made from that one person, using this Facebook method and I'm only pricing this valuable blueprint at $97!"

There, see...now you have the start of a promising campaign for your product, and a great idea for it...you can train others how to use Facebook the same way and create leads for themselves...  You can go on:

"For only $97, I'm going to share this EXACT blueprint with you on how you can do the same...  Imagine if only 5 people joined you and did this same thing!  That would be a clear $2,450!  And you can tap into this blueprint right now."   ...See how you can run with your successes and use them even to sell your products?

You can add validity and reassurance to promoting your product, by putting something like this at the end of that statement above:  "If you don't feel it's a great product and absolutely love it, just shoot me an email within 30 days, and I'll refund 100% of your money."

You can even go a bit further, and after that guarantee, you can add on something like this:  "And...if after viewing the 2 videos and having my personal 30 minute coaching session, you don't feel you've received exceptional value, just call me, and I'll give you another FREE 30-minute coaching session on top of that."

So...here are some tips to finding your 3 most shining moments you had in your business and describing how they furthered your business, so you can use these to find what you'd like to base your product on...

1.  What is your best shining moment yet?  This can even be a non-monetary moment, like you went to a conference and spent a couple hours with the leaders of it, picking their brains.  You could market a nice little $29.95 product around networking with leaders (just be sure not to use the leaders' names in your title).

2.  What is your 2nd best shining moment?  Again, look for things you might not even think of...if your Ezine article was listed as a top article, your web site ranked 3 on Google, etc., one of the leaders in your company noticed you....

3.  What is your 3rd best shining moment?  Come up with one last shining moment within the category that you are thinking of doing your product around.
