Video Blogging (Part 1)

Why Video?

YouTube is the 3rd most trafficked websited after Google and Facebook.  It's localized in 22 countries across 24 languages, it exceeds 2 billion views a day (nearly double the prime-time audience of all 3 major TV networks combined) and the average person spends 15 minutes a day on it.  And if you're advertising a product, it's best to be where the people are, right.

YouTube is monetizing over a billion video views per week, and 94 of Advertising Age's top 100 advertisers have run their campaigns on YouTube.  The number of advertisers using display ads on YouTube increased 10-fold this past year.

Plus, it's easier to go viral and get better SEO.  YouTube is owned by Google, so it's easier to rank high, and at least 3 million people are connected and autosharing to at least one social network.  Each autoshare Tweet results in 7 new YouTube sessions.

And here's a nice bonus, videos can be repurposed.  Take a short video and post it and then transcribe it as an article and use the content to work for you in more ways than one.

Add to all that better connections with others, and you have a prime avenue of socially connecting and marketing.  People can see you and you become more "real" to them.  It's been noted that viewers of videos hold a higher perception of those they're watching than when they read articles.

Next, watch later this week for tips on making your first video, selecting your niche, tools and more.

Have you used videos yet?  What has your experience with them been?   Share your experience with us below, I'd love to hear about it!

To your success,

Thea

  1. Hello Thea!
I'd like to say that Videos have helped me in an Enormous way! How? First of all, Video Marketing helps you get ranked on the 1st page of google, especially when people comment on them! And if you use Hub Pages with your Videos it will also help you Dominate even more! I have awesome results with Video Marketing & Hub Page Articles. Thank you for another great post Thea.

  2. Hi Thea....Thank you for having this blog! It's people like you who help keep me motivated in NOT giving up to learn internet marketing. I have been struggling but have learned a lot. I wrote, Hanging Out For The Health Of It, becuz of all the successes my patients were having and I wanted to share it with the world and help more people thru the internet. Now it's time to put all the pieces together and start using Video to use in the marketing of my information. I always wanted to be an actor!

On a different side note I almost changed careers to go to law school but decided to stick with what I already know, love and am good at. Sounds like ur son will make a fine lawyer one day.

Thanks again and to your readers like Kenny with his comments. I keep learning from people like you and Kenny.

May you Always have Friends that Care, Health to Spare and Love to Share.

Thank you, Dr. Gonzalez for stopping by and taking the time to read my story. Your patients are blessed to have your care and concern! I'm glad I can share something that helps. Can't wait to share with you more about video marketing with the new methods I'm learning this weekend.
