Working out Your Independence

So...what is indepdendence worth to you? Is it worth what it was to our forefathers who risked everything in fighting to free themselves from our mother country? Is it worth a fight at all to you?...a great effort...work and time and your financial resources, as it was to them?... Can you really put a price on your independence?

Too many times I see people who want to become independent entrepreneurs overnight. They're eager for their freedom from that 9-5 clock and all the ties that go with it. I understand...I wouldn't be here at all if I didn't believe in that endeavor. But too often those people come into an internet business (or another home business) and expect to see great results overnight. They're eager to leave the jobs they're in or to begin earning the income they've lost from a job that's now gone, or they come out of college, wanting to put their newly developed training to work right away seeing the fruits of it right away. But let's face it...how many of us began the jobs we're in right now or the ones we had and were immediately experts at what we were doing? Didn't it take us time to learn all the ins and outs of that work too?

I understand...you see all the ads online promoting businesses meant to make you rich overnight. I felt the same way, looking at all the ads online for different businesses. I kept reading all these great success stories and thinking, "Wow! That sounds great!," and then I would look into it and find out all I had to learn and the money I needed to sink into it to get things going and I'd feel frustrated and misled by the ads, so I'd move on to the next thing, looking for something real that I could feel good about and trust... I can't tell you how many different programs I've looked into over these past couple years.

Looking for our Own Path to Independence

But isn't that part of it also?...the search? Who of us went to college immediately following high school and knew right away what we wanted to do and is still in that field? Who hasn't searched around for that right job or career or niche and taken the time to research what's best for our situation? Why would an online business or any other business endeavor not require that same upfront work? This is all part of your fight for independence... Accept that, be thankful for the opportunity of living in a time and place where that's even possible and make the best of it. Search everywhere and find the opportunity that's right for you, and then set your mind to succeed in it and stick to it! Fight for your independence...be willing to work it out!

I'm grateful for the time I spent looking into and researching opportunities... I see it as a growing process. I'm great at research, so I've used it as stepping stones - pieces of research towards my goal of independence... In each effort, I was exposed to something new, sometimes good, but oftentimes not so good. Then I would run with that idea and research it to death learning all I could about it. It's helped me make wise decisions and learned enough about finding my own path for and fighting for my own independence that I can turn around and share what I have now with you.

I'm still in the learning process, and hope I always see myself that way. I believe we fight with all we have for that chance to be independent and along the way, we have a responsibility to share our knowledge with others, to help others through that same process...

Have you found your path to independence? Are you currently working out your way to independence? Share with me below...

To your success,

Thea
